What is Blackout Curtain Fabric?
Blackout curtain fabric is a special type of textile designed to block out almost all natural light from entering a room. Unlike regular curtains that may filter or diffuse sunlight, blackout curtains have a dense weave or a coating that prevents light penetration, creating a near-total darkening effect indoors.
Typically, blackout curtain fabrics are made using multiple layers or by applying a tightly woven backing, often made of acrylic foam or polyester. This additional lining is what provides the fabric with its light-blocking properties, as well as insulation and soundproofing capabilities.
